We have had SO much snow this past week. We have been mostly house-bound. This picture was taken on Sunday morning, we have about 3 more inches of snow with 1/2 inch of ice.

Thanksgiving 2008

The kids and I drove to Idaho for Thanksgiving. Here is a
picture of all the kids that were there! 14 in all, and that wasn't
even all of them. The trip was quite fun.

Gabe, Dash, and Charlie. Gabe and Charlie are the same
age (4 days apart) and Dash is 8 months old now.

Charlie is 5 1/2 months old now. He is rolling ALL over the place. He is a happy baby, loves his siblings!

Caroline got a "Jackson Jaguar" award at school last week for her excellent work habits.
She got the award in front of the entire school. It was a surprise for her.

The Fall bring Crabs!

Our trees are simply beautiful in the fall. The builder planted many, many red sunset maple trees on the parking strips which leads to stunning colors in the fall. The kids love raking up a big pile of leaves and then jumping right into the middle of it. Only to have to rake another pile... and jump again.

The first crabbing trip was a success. 17 crabs were caught.

Charlie is doing great! He is rolling over both directions, and starting to really play with toys. He got a new jumping exersauser thing which he loves.

Bears...

In this life, I'm a woman. In my next life, I'd like to come back as a bear.

When you're a bear, you get to hibernate. You do nothing but sleep for six months. I could deal with that.

Before you hibernate, you're supposed to eat yourself stupid. I could deal with that, too.

When you're a girl bear, you birth your children (who are the size of walnuts) while you're sleeping and wake to partially grown, cute cuddly cubs. I could definitely deal with that.

If you're a mama bear, everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line, you swat them too. I could deal with that.

If you're a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling. He EXPECTS that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat.

Yup. Gonna be a bear.

Baby Elephant

School was out last week for 3 days for conferences. We decided to go see the new baby elephant at the Zoo. His name is Sam (short for Samudra). He was still so tiny, we were expecting him to be bigger!
My four little cubs... the smallest looks just like his father. Don't you think so?
Mr. Charlie loves his Whoozit toy. He squeals in delight and tries to eat the Whoozit all the time. Best toy ever.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Pumpkin Patch today. Charlie had his first hayride, saw his first pigs, baby cows, and great big pumpkins. These were the only pictures that came out, the rest of the pictures were awful. Either someone is closing their eyes or had a funny look on their face. We might try another pumpkin patch later, and if those pictures come out, I will post them.

Jackson earns a Jaguar Award!

Jackson earned a Jaguar award at school last Friday. The school is awarding kids every month based on good merits. Jackson is one of the first kids to get this award. His award was for 'following directions the first time they are given for the whole month of September'. Way to go Jackson! He didn't know he was getting it, and it was in front of the whole school!

Charlie 3 months

Charlie is 3 months old now. He smiles, laughs, talks to toys, blows bubbles, chews on his hands, bats at toys.
He is a pretty happy baby, except he does not like to be alone. He cries very loudly when he figures out he is by himself. He loves, loves, loves being in the sling. I carry him in the sling in stores and in the house. I make dinner, vacuum, ect. all with him in the sling.
